Notable events during the month:                 
Snow fell heavily for several hours overnight 28th-29th, leaving a 4cm covering on the morning of the 29th. A previous October snow-cover
was recorded on the evening of 29 Oct 1926, but there is no instance of snow lying at the morning observation in October since the 
station was opened in Dec 1909
